BASIC PRINCIPLES OF AYURVEDA
According to Ayurveda human body is a miniature universe made up of the 5 basic elements, the Panchamahabhootas. These 5 elements in different proportions form saptadhatus (structural units), thridoshas (functional units) and thrimalas (metabolic waste products). This component together with Agni (digestive capacity) in a state of equilibrium keeps the body healthy.Wrong food habits, unhealthy life style, seasonal variations etc. are the key factors that disturb the equilibrium. This derangement causes accumulation of metabolic waste products in weaker areas of
the body and it disturbs the digestive capacity. This leads to manifestation of diseases.
